This is a lovely antique alabaster bust of a Renaissance period woman - the bust is affixed to an alabaster pedestal with what appears to be glue. The piece is unsigned but is very much in the Italian style, similar to work by Giuseppe Bessi. The piece measures 9 3/4 including the base and 6 in height on its own - it weighs 3 lbs and 3.2 oz. It is in very good condition with some minor edge chipping to the edge of the womans hat. This is a lovely piece - nice size for a fireplace mantle or other display!
